What are Badges?
Badges on Gamesville serve two purposes: they show how many GV Rewards you've earned, and allow you to express yourself in game chat.
Here is a chart of how many GV Rewards are required to attain each badge:
Using Gamesville manager chriscummings01 as an example--here is what chriscummings01's active badge (the flame icon) looks like in game chat:
As you win more GV Rewards, you win cool new Badges. The full-size version of your active badge can be found on the "Badges" tab of your Member Page. In Chris' case, it looks like this:
To get to your Member Page, click your member name at the top of the page, or directly navigate to it by typing in http://www.gamesville.com/profiles/[your member name].
In Chris' example, it'd be
To view all the Badges you've unlocked, go to your Badge Album. You can get there by clicking "See My Badges" or directly by going to http://www.gamesville.com/badges.php.
Your Badge Album looks like this:
By default, we show the first 8 slots in your Badge album. To see all the badge names and values, click the "More" button below the second row of badges.
The album will then unfold to reveal all the badges. If you haven't unlocked a badge yet, there will be a generic, grayed out penguin in lieu of the badge itself.
Once you unlocked the badge, the grayed out penguin will be replaced with the actual badge.
To change your active badge, simply click any badge you've unlocked. For example, if Chris wanted to display the Heart symbol next to his name in chat, he'd click the badge titled "GV Day".
This would automatically change his active badge across the site, including chat.
Sometimes, after you follow the steps above to change your active badge, there may be a lag in updating your badge in chat. This is due to caching in your browser. In this event, close out of your game and then re-enter. This will flush your cache and display your active badge to everyone.
Did you know your badges can also double as wallpapers (backgrounds) for your computer? To get it, simply click the "Download full size!" link below your active Badge in your Badge Album.
