How To Play Dominoes

Placing Dominoes

When it is your turn, the Dominoes, or bones, that you can place on the board will be active. All other bones in your hand will be grayed out.

To place a bone, click on it and drag it to the game board. You will see green outlines in the positions where you can legally play that bone. Drag the bone to the outline where you want to place it and release. The piece should snap into place.

When it is not your turn, all your bones will be grayed out.

Drawing from the Boneyard

If you do not have any bones that you can place on the board you will have to draw from the boneyard. We will automatically keep drawing bones for you until you receive one that you can play.

If the boneyard is empty and you do not have a bone to play, you must pass your turn.

Placing the Spinner

The Spinner - the first double bone played during a round - is always at the center of the game board.

When a Spinner is placed after the game has started, the game board will shift to put the Spinner at the center.

Forfeit Timer If the forfeit timer has been selected for your table, then you have a set amount of time in which to play your turn.

If you do not make your move before the forfeit timer reaches zero, you forfeit your turn. If you forfeit your turn two times in a row, you forfeit the entire game.

When you forfeit a rated game a loss is calculated onto your rating.

Player Leaves

If a player leaves during a game, the host will be offered four choices: Wait, play robot, find a new table or play a different game. If the game is rated and the host chooses to allow a robot player to fill in, the robot will assume the rating of the player that left.

Any player who leaves a rated game before it is complete will have their rating change as if they had lost the game.

In the event that you lose your Internet connection during a game, log back on and try to rejoin your game. The host may have chosen to wait for you to return, and if you are able to rejoin your game you will not have a Quit (loss) recorded for you.

Technical Problems

If you are having difficulties loading and running the classic games, see this Troubleshooting section of Gamesville help.
