How do I play Jewel Thief?

Answer

• The object of Jewel Thief is to line up identical jewels in rows of three or more so they disappear.
• There are three different houses or Levels at which you can play.
• Level 1 has seven different jewels and you receive the lowest points for all matches.
• Level 2 has eight different jewels.
• Level 3 has nine different jewels and you receive the highest points for all matches.
• You earn points by collecting jewels. To collect jewels, create a row of three or more identical jewels.
• You can swap any two adjacent jewels. Click on one jewel and it will be highlighted. Then click on any adjacent jewel and the two will switch places.
• If you swap two jewels and it doesn't result in a row of three or more identical jewels, you lose 50 points.
• If you swap two jewels and it does result in a row of three or more identical jewels, the matching jewels will vanish from the board and you earn points for collecting those jewels.
• Each level has its own point scale for matches made:

  	3 Gems	4 Gems	5 Gems	6 Gems
  Level 1	10 points	20 points	30 points	40 points
  Level 2	15 points	25 points	35 points	45 points
  Level 3	20 points	30 points	40 points	50 points

   

• When matches are made and the jewels disappear, the board will resettle, and new jewels will fall in from the top to fill the empty space.
• If you make multiple matches from one move, the point values you earn are higher than single matches. For instance, playing on Level 1, if you match three jewels and when the board resettles another match of three jewels occurs, you earn 10 points for the first match and 20 points for the second match.
• Each level has its own scale for multiple matches. To the base points of the match we will add the following points for multiple matches:

Frequently asked questions

Q. Why won't the game load? How long does it take?
A. Jewel Thief only takes a few minutes to load. If it is taking more than five minutes, there may be a problem. Please see the Errors & Troubleshooting section of Gamesville help for more information.

Q. I was in the middle of a game when suddenly I was returned to the beginning. What happened?
A. During play if you game suddenly goes back to the beginning (the window may turn black first), it means that your Internet connection to us was broken. This may happen from time to time. Periodic disconnects often last only a few seconds and so they go unnoticed. Jewel Thief will continue working properly if you are disconnected from us for just a few seconds. After a minute, however, your game will close and you will need to start again from the beginning.
