How much does it cost to play?

Gamesville games such as Three-Eyed Bingo, Magic 21, Frantic Fish and more are entirely free to play. Member registration at Gamesville is also free. (How can we afford to have free games with cash prizes? Read this.).

There are some exceptions. For example, many of our partners (such as WorldWinner) and sponsors have charges associated with their sites. If you leave our site (perhaps by clicking on an ad), you may run into games that are not free.

Remember: Internet sites cannot read your mind. If you encounter ANY site that prompts you for your credit card number, please read the page to see what you are agreeing to BEFORE you agree to it.

Is Gamesville gambling?

Gamesville games are free to play: You don't wager or risk any money. All prizes are funded by our sponsors.

How do Guest Accounts work?

Some games on Gamesville allow for trial play without registering. These Guest Account on Gamesville you have limited access to the Gamesville site.

All Guest Accounts have the same green smiley face badge. When you register as a member you can earn different GV Reward Badges based on the number of GV Reward points your accumulate.
With a Guest Account you do not have access to play rated games.
As a guest you will not have access to chat until you become a registered member.
A guest is not eligible to enter the Sweepstakes or win cash prizes.
Guests will also not appear on any of the high score lists during game play, as well as, on any high score list on the Gamesville site.
Any GV Rewards a guest earns while playing do not automatically carry over. The MAXIMUM number of GV Rewards you can carry over from a guest account to a registered Gamesville account is 5,000.

As a registered member of Gamesville you'll receive the following access to the site:

Ability to enter into the Sweepstakes and win cash prizes.
Playing rated games against friends and other Gamesville members.
Registered members can earn different GV Reward Badges to identify their status when they accumulate a certain number of GV Rewards.
Access to chat with friends and other Gamesville members.
The satisfaction of seeing your member name appear on the high score list for all of our Gamesville games.

How do I join Gamesville?

To join Gamesville, go to http://registration.lycos.com/register.php?m_PR=2

If you have already registered for Gamesville, or any other Lycos Network service (eg, Tripod, Angelfire, or Lycos Mail), you do not need to register again. Just enter your existing Gamesville or Lycos Network member name and password in the sign in page.

My member name is "not available"--why?

New members: If you are told that the member name you'd like to register is not available, you will need to select another member name because your desired member name is already in use at Gamesville.com or another site in the Lycos Network.

Current members: Please do not attempt to register again with a member name you've already registered with us. Instead, type your existing member name and password into the Gamesville homepage and click the red "Sign In" button.

Can other people play on my computer?

Yes. But for others to play at Gamesville on your computer, you will need to sign out so they can sign in.

To sign out of Gamesville, click the "sign out" link at the top of the Gamesville home page.

Once you are signed out, others can sign into Gamesville using their own member name and password.

Am I signed in?

Some users report sign in problems, not realizing they are already signed in. To check, please go to the Gamesville Home page and look at the upper right side of the page.

If you are signed in, you will see your member name and Gamesville Avatar.

If you are not signed in, you will see a space to enter your member name and password and a red button that says "Sign In".

I forgot my password! How can I get my password back?

If you forget your password, we can email it back to you at any time, immediately! Go to http://registration.lycos.com/forgot.php?m_PR=2 and provide the requested information.

Can I change my member name?

No, Gamesville does not allow member name changes. If you want to change your member name, you will need to sign up for a new account, and use that new name instead.

Please note: Gamesville cannot transfer any points, reward points, winnings, profile, or friends lists from your current member name to your new member name.

How do I update my registration information?

You may change or update your password, email address, mailing address, and newsletter subscriptions by clicking the "Account Info" link at the top of the Gamesville homepage. If this link or your member name do not appear, then you need to sign in.

Alternatively, you can go to your account information directly by going to http://registration.lycos.com/memberedit.php?m_PR=2

How do I cancel my account?

Please submit a request to close your Gamesville / Lycos Network account to Gamesville Customer Service, by sending a fax to 781-370-2990 with the information requested further down this page. This is the only way to officially cancel your Gamesville account.

Please include "Attn: Gamesville Cancellations" on your Cover Sheet.

Prior to closing your account, please consider canceling any unwanted newsletter subscriptions that you receive from us by updating your registration information as outlined above.

For security reasons, we need the following information which you have already provided us during registration as proof of your identity:

Your name (first and last)
Your street address including ZIP/postal code
The email address that you used to register with Lycos Gamesville
The Member name(s) you wish to delete.
Your date of Birth

Warning! Closing your Gamesville / Lycos Network account will deny access to all Lycos services connected to that membership. These services may include but are not limited to: Tripod; Angelfire; Lycos Mail; htmlGEAR; and Lycos Cinema.
