Begin your card ripping journey at Trove

I’m going to level with you – there aren’t any promo codes at Trove. Or at least, there aren’t any kicking around yet. While you might come across a Boxed.gg promo code offering a free mystery box, Trove is only focused on premium trading cards.

With Trove the trading cards you receive are based on the category and level of pack you choose. On top of that, there’s always a chance that you could pick up Chase Cards, which are even more rare. But you won’t know what you’ve got until you rip it open (digitally or physically).

Trove doesn’t have a welcome bonus

If you’re more familiar with mystery box sites, then you may be used to receiving a free mystery box as a welcome bonus. Some sites even offer bonus credits that you can use to pick up additional mystery boxes, for example. Trove doesn’t offer anything like that (yet!) and believe me, I looked everywhere.

If you’ve read my Trove review already, then this won’t be news to you. What Trove does have though is a huge range of trading card packs to pick up. These start at $25 and can rise as high as $5,000, so there is something to suit everyone.

Promotions that Trove does have

While Trove may not have any promo codes or bonuses in the traditional sense, I was able to find a couple of rewards.

Referral bonus

One bonus that I did come across was a referral bonus. It’s not the most well advertised reward, but I managed to find it in the end. When you first sign up to Trove, you’ll get a unique referral link. You can find this in the referral section of your account. If you know someone who is thinking of joining, share your referral code with them. When they sign up with it, they’ll be considered one of your referrals.

Just like the Cravin promo code, your friend will need to enter your unique referral code during the registration process. If they forget, they’ll have 24 hours to enter it but after that the referral won’t be counted. When your friend purchases a trading card pack, you’ll receive 10% of the purchase value as TroveCash.

The bonus you get is based on the purchase value of the pack, not the true value of the cards your friend receives. So if your friend purchases a Premier pack at $250, then you’d receive $25 in TroveCash. This would be the case no matter what the card they receive is worth. You can use this TroveCash towards any trading packs that are available.

Key things to remember are:

• The referral bonus is awarded as TroveCash which is not withdrawable
• You can refer a maximum of 10 friends
• Your referral bonus is based on the purchase value of your friend’s trading card pack

Get TroveCash with every trading card purchase

Everytime you purchase and rip a pack of trading cards, Trove will reward you with TroveCash. This is the same TroveCash that you receive in the referral bonus. The exact amount you get will depend on the trading card pack you purchase. But it could be up to 1%. So let’s say that you purchase a Legend trading card pack for $1,000, then you could receive up to $10 in TroveCash.

Other ways that Trove offers value

One of the reasons that Trove doesn’t offer a HypeDrop promo code or similar, is because the site offers a lot of value anyway. The main way it does this is by offering potential Chase Cards with every trading pack purchase. Chase Cards are like super rare finds, often worth a lot more than the original price of the trading pack.

As you can see from this table, there’s the potential to get a huge amount of value with your trading card packs. Of course, it’s important to remember that getting those super high value cards is exceptionally rare. But the point is that it’s possible. I think that Trove offering these Chase Cards is more valuable than a one off welcome bonus.

One thing to note though is that the value of the Chase Cards is always subject to change. The value is based on real-time sales, not just fancy guessing. So if a specific card sells for less or more than the current listed value, then it will decrease or increase accordingly. Let’s take a look at the highest value Chase Cards for a few categories.

Basketball Chase Cards

There are seven possible levels of trading card packs for basketball, with the highest being the Apex pack. This has a purchase value of $2,500. Possible Chase Cards include:

• #9 Kobe Bryant (worth $97,037)
• #3 Victor Wembanyama (worth $36,242)
• #5 Jayson Tatum (worth $34,252)
• #DRACD Cooper Flagg/Dylan Harper (worth $30,492)

Baseball Chase Cards

Similar to basketball, baseball has seven levels of trading packs available, from $25 for Starter packs, to $2,500 for Apex packs. Chase Cards for the Apex packs could potentially be:

• #183 Shohei Ohtani (worth $14,400)
• #CDAPC Pete Crow-Armstrong (worth $9,760)
• #CPA-CF Andrew Fischer (worth $7,000)
• #CPA-RA Roman Anthony (worth $6,557)

Pokémon Chase Cards

Pokémon cards are my favorite category of trading cards, mostly because there’s a lot of nostalgia. The available Chase Cards are also arguably the coolest of any category, but I might be biassed there. The Holo cards are a real highlight, and Trove has quite a few that are either mint condition or near-mint condition. The Apex pack is the most valuable, with Chase Cards such as:

• #145 Celebi-Holo (worth ($49,999.99)
• #64 Snorlax U (worth $28,705)
• #107 Mudkip-Holo (worth $27,920)
• #106 Latios-Holo (worth $25,754)

If you’ve been missing that one specific Holo card for a long time, Trove could be the place to find it.

Soccer Chase Cards

Sports are always a popular category for trading cards, especially soccer. There are a variety of international leagues represented here, with an emphasis on the English Premier League and English Champions League. Possible Chase Cards you could pick up with the Apex pack include:

• #1 Lionel Messi (worth $50,000)
• #93 Cristiano Ronaldo (worth $40,970)
• #136 Michael Olise (worth $34,749)
• #MD Max Dowman (worth $33,236)

Pros and cons: Trove promo code

Conclusion – Find value in Chase Cards at Trove

For some Trove, not having a welcome offer might be the end of the world, but to me, offering long-term value is much better than a one-off. Chase Cards are the real star of the show here, and I was only able to scratch the surface of what’s available. Every Trove trading pack comes with the potential to pick up these rare and valuable cards. This is the case from Starter packs to Premier packs, and all the way up to Mythos packs.

If you enjoy trading cards with friends, then you can also get rewarded for asking them to join Trove. Get 10% back on all of their trading card pack purchases as TroveCash. Pretty cool right? Trove also gives you 1% back in TroveCash on your own purchases too. Use the links on this page to sign up and discover all this platform has to offer.
