One of the beauties of the internet is that you can now rip baseball cards online. That means you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home just to rip a pack that is tied to your favorite sport.
From cards featuring popular players and MLB teams to stadiums, historic moments, rookies, mascots, and special memorabilia, there are many options you could explore. However, the individual experience of unboxing actually depends on the site you decided to sign up for, even though it’s usually straightforward. Later on, we’ll discuss more about baseball cards and how you can rip them.
Baseball cards are collectible trading cards based around the sport of baseball. Players are obviously a huge part of them, but they aren’t the whole story. Depending on the site you explore, you may come across some of the less or most valuable baseball cards, including those celebrating MLB teams, ballparks, managers, mascots, championship seasons, record-breaking performances, historical moments, and other parts of the baseball culture.
Like we mentioned earlier, some cards even contain pieces of memorabilia connected to the game. That’s what makes baseball card collecting so broad. One collector might be chasing rookie cards, while another is trying to build a complete team set. Interestingly, there are so many sites that you can explore to rip baseball cards online. However, we’ve listed some of the best options for you to check out on the banners of this page.
Before we show you how to get started, let’s quickly explain what it is to rip cards online. Just as we briefly stated in our Ripit review, In card collecting, ripping simply means opening a sealed pack or box of trading cards. So, when you rip baseball cards online, it basically means you’re participating from a remote setting rather than being physically at the pack shop.
Of course, the experience differs and depends on the site you’re exploring. Some online card shops let you purchase a sealed pack and have someone open it live on camera. Others specialize in group baseball card breaks where several collectors buy different teams, divisions, players, or sports from the same box or case. As soon as you break baseball cards, whatever cards that belong to your purchase are identified and generally shipped to you according to the site’s rules. However, some sites will actually allow you to keep them as part of your digital collectibles without having to ship to your home address.
The process can actually look different from one site to another, but the basic idea is very straightforward. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to rip one of the most valuable sports cards or you just want to open a pack featuring your favorite players, the following steps will definitely guide you through:
First of all, you’ll need to find a reputable online packs unboxing site. Don’t just jump on any random one just because it claims to have different types of baseball. Before you sign up, take some time to understand how the site works, check what products are available, how cards are allocated, shipping fees, refund rules, and whatever openings are live-streamed or recorded.
Fortunately, you don’t have to pass through that stress as we have listed some top sites for you to choose from on the banners of this page. The best part is that you don’t have to spend so much time during sign up. While testing the sites, none of them took more than 5 minutes to create an account. As soon as the sign up process is completed, you can then proceed to adding funds to your account.
With an account that is funded and ready, you can now proceed to select your preferred packs from the list of available options. If you’re looking forward to rip sports cards online, make sure to pay attention to the type of baseball cards contained in each pack. Some may focus on current MLB players and rookies, while others could feature prospects, legendary players, teams, special inserts, autographs, or memorabilia. Also, before proceeding, try to check the pack details, price, and possible card types before making your selection. Once you find a pack that resonates with what you’re looking for and budget, you can purchase it and move on to the actual ripping process.
Once you’ve purchased the pack, you can then proceed to rip it open. Depending on the site you sign up for, you may be allowed to open the pack yourself on your screen. However, on some sites, the pack will be opened physically during a live steam. This is where the excitement finally kicks in, as you finally get to see the baseball cards hiding inside. Your pull could include anything from regular base and team cards to rookies, parallels, autographs, or memorabilia cards.
After uncovering the card hiding behind the pack you purchased, you can then decide to store it as part of your digital collection or ship it to your home address. In fact, on some sites, you may even be given the chance of selling it back to them at the current value. If you decide to keep it as part of your digital collection, it’s worth noting that the physical cards are usually stored in a vault for you, so you can decide to ship at any time. However, kindly note that shipping can attract a fee, so take note of that.
There’s actually a long list of cards you can rip online, even though they can depend on the site you explore. Here’s a close look at some of them:
These are basically cards tied to Major League Baseball and can feature different parts of the league. You could come across cards of your favorite MLB players, teams, rookies, legends, stadiums, or even memorable moments from previous seasons. So, if you follow the MLB closely, these cards can offer an interesting way for you to collect something connected to the teams and players you already know.
Rookie cards feature players around the beginning of their MLB careers. They’re very popular among baseball collectors, especially when the player is already making a name for themselves. Of course, getting a rookie card doesn’t automatically mean you’ve hit something valuable. The player, card rarity, condition, and overall demands can all make a difference.
These are cards of young baseball players who are still trying to establish themselves at the highest level. You may even find cards of prospects who haven’t made their MLB debut yet. They are a fun option if you enjoy following young talent and seeing which players eventually turn into big names.
